There is a great opportunity for young Singers (18 — 30) and musicians (18 — 28) to participate on international Project with the renowned conductor Helmuth Rilling. Travel, accommodation, meals and course fee costs will be paid

Internationally acknowledged Italian specialist on Gregorian chant Alberto Turco is going to visit Košice, Slovakia. He will lead here Workshop called
Music between Heaven and Earth — Gregorian chant

Workshop organizes Liturgical Institute of Ján Jalovecký (Theologic Faculty of Catholic University). It will be held from 17th — 19th march 2007 on Hlavná 89 Street in Košice.
The Goal of the Workshop is to illustrate Gregorian chant theoretically and practically. Participants would have the possibility to chant under the direction of Alberto Turco. There will be no participation fee.
Initiator and main Organizer of the Workshop is ThDr. Ján Veľbacký. We will bring more specific information about the Workshop soon.

Czech Sacred Music Society organizes already 4th year of International Summer School of Sacred Music — Convivium. It will be held from 18th to 26th august 2007 in Premonstratensian Abbey Želiv (Czech Republic).
Workshop and Lectors:

- Organ class — Vincent Rigot (France)
- Solo singing — Nicki Kennedy (Great Britain)
- Orthodox sacred music — Grzegorz Cebulski (Poland)

- Figural Vespers of 18th century and Choirmaster class — Marek Valášek (Czech Republic)
- Gamba class — Peter Wagner (Czech Republic)
I have visited Convivium in 2004 and 2005 — I do recomend it.

Chant book which we mentioned in the last post, is already available online on the webpage of CMAA.
It contains chants for celebrations of Holy Week starting with Palm Sunday (including earlier supplied Passion Narratives)through Easter Triduum and Easter Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. From the whole interresting content we pick out:
- Lamentations of Jeremiah with simple tones,
- famous Hymns like Vexilla regis, Pange lingua, Crux fidelis
- Celebration of Mass of the Chrism (Missa Chrismatis)
- Exsultet
- …
In appendix there are chants for feasts of few saints, common tunes for psalmody, lectures, prayers and others. PDF file has 553 pages and it takes about 18.5 MB on your harddisk.
